You can use both across the same portfolio

Many agencies use commission early, when their client book is still growing and the simplicity matters. As the book scales and wholesale unlocks, they shift higher-volume clients to the wholesale model where the margin potential is greater. Some run a mix permanently: commission on smaller or newer clients, wholesale on the established retainers they bill directly. There is no restriction on switching a client between models, and no penalty for using both simultaneously.

Revenue model questions

What happens if a client churns?
On the commission model, commission stops when the client's subscription ends. There are no claw-backs on commission already paid. On the wholesale model, you stop being billed for that client's subscription and you stop earning the margin on it.
When does commission start being paid?
Commission is accrued from the first invoice your referred client pays and is paid out on the standard partner payment schedule. Contact the partnerships team for payment schedule details.
Can I switch a client between commission and wholesale?
Yes. You can move a client between billing models, subject to your tier level. Wholesale requires Silver or above. Contact the partnerships team to arrange a switch for an existing client.
Does wholesale apply to all subscription price points?
Yes. The wholesale discount applies at every SKU stop in the pricing ladder. The percentage off is consistent regardless of which subscription tier the client is on.
Is there a minimum commitment to start the partner programme?
No. The partner programme is free. No subscription fees, no minimum client commitment, no card required to start. You begin earning commission from your very first client.
