// about
Ecommerce tools come and go.
You inherit the result, not the risk.
Platforms launch, pivot, and shut down. Every time one does, merchants rebuild their setup from scratch. Vendably has been shipping the same two ideas since 2012: a comparison-shopping engine and a feed manager. The dots to your right are this month's shipments. Fourteen years of that rhythm is what you stand on.
The journey
-
The company went through more than one name while it searched for the right shape. What never changed were the two ideas underneath it: a comparison-shopping engine and a feed manager. Both are still at the core of the platform today. Everything else has compounded around them.
-
The product idea was clear, but the foundation underneath it was wrong for the job. We rebuilt it properly rather than ship something we'd already outgrown, running the rebuild in parallel so there was never a gap in service. That kind of rebuild is uncomfortable. It is also the only kind worth doing.
-
A clean-slate V2 ran for about six months. It was lean and considered, and ultimately not good enough to replace what existed. We set it aside. Knowing when to stop is its own skill, and this is the clearest proof that Vendably kills work rather than ship something that does not earn its place.
The company changed names more than once. The two ideas underneath it never did.

Smaller bets, bigger lessons. A Shopify connector, a multi-merchant architecture, nine capability groups taking shape. The dots in the hero above are every shipment from the last sixty days. That rhythm has been running since 2012, just with a far better foundation under it.
-
The comparison-shopping engine and the feed manager are still at the centre, with nine capability groups around them. Merchants signing up today stand on fourteen years of decisions: most of them hard, a few of them wrong, and none of them hidden.
