Vendably ingests per-product, per-day transaction data from Google Analytics 4 (GA4): product views, add-to-cart events, purchases, quantity sold, item-attributed revenue, and sessions. This gives DataHub a real demand and revenue signal per product. For merchants without a Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce order feed, GA4 data acts as a fallback so order and revenue metrics still work at daily granularity (customer-level analysis is not available on the GA4-only path). The data powers product Quick Facts, the Learn tab, and intelligence pipelines.
For an overview of how DataHub sources work, see What is DataHub.
What you need before connecting
- An active GA4 property with ecommerce tracking configured. GA4 must receive
view_item,add_to_cart, andpurchaseevents from your store. Without these events, Vendably receives no transaction data even if the property has traffic. - A Google account with View access or higher to that GA4 property.
- One GA4 property per merchant account. If you have multiple properties, select the one that represents this merchant's storefront.
Connect in Vendably
- In the main navigation, go to Settings then Connected Accounts.
- Find Google Analytics and click Connect.
- Vendably redirects you to Google. Sign in with the Google account that has access to your GA4 property, and grant the read-only analytics permission when prompted.
- Vendably discovers all GA4 properties available to that Google account and lists them for selection.
- Select the GA4 property to use for this merchant. Vendably confirms the connection and begins a backfill of the last 90 days of product transaction data. This takes a few minutes depending on catalogue and traffic volume.
The connection is stored against the user account that authorised it. If multiple members of your team need to manage the connection, the authorising user should be the one with stable, long-term access to the GA4 property.
What happens after connecting
After the initial 90-day backfill, Vendably syncs automatically once a day. New data typically appears within 24 hours of the previous day closing. Each daily sync re-fetches the last couple of days to account for GA4's late-arriving attribution: conversion events can be reported with a short delay, and the re-fetch ensures Vendably captures them accurately.
Once the backfill is complete, transaction data is available across DataHub: product Quick Facts show demand and revenue metrics, and the Learn tab surfaces performance trends per product.
Troubleshooting
Property not listed after authorising: the Google account you authorised may not have access to the property. Add the user to the GA4 property with View access or higher in GA4 Admin under Property access management, or re-authorise using the Google account that owns the property.
Connected but no transaction data appearing: the most common cause is ecommerce tracking not enabled in GA4. In GA4 Admin, go to Data Streams, open your stream, and check that Enhanced measurement is on and that purchase and add-to-cart events are being received. Confirm your site sends view_item, add_to_cart, and purchase events. Also allow up to 24 hours for the first daily sync to complete.
Sync error after re-authorising in Google: if the Google authorisation is revoked (for example, via your Google account's security settings), Vendably stops receiving data. Go to Connected Accounts, disconnect the Google Analytics connection, re-authorise, and re-select the GA4 property.
Sampling notice on the data: very high-traffic GA4 properties may return sampled data for some date ranges. Vendably still ingests the sampled data and displays a notice alongside the affected metrics.
