The ad account audit is a health check for your Google Ads account. Vendably runs 70 checks across 12 domains, produces an overall health score from 0 to 100, and surfaces individual findings with severity ratings so you can see exactly where your account needs attention. The audit is available for Google Ads; Microsoft Ads and Meta audits are not yet available.
What the audit checks
The 70 checks span 12 domains:
- Account Structure & Settings: campaign and ad group organisation, account configuration.
- Budget & Bidding: budget allocation, pacing, and bid strategy configuration.
- Conversion Tracking: whether conversions are set up correctly and firing as expected.
- Keywords & Search Terms: keyword coverage, match types, and search term analysis.
- Ad Copy & Creative: ad copy coverage, quality, and extension use.
- Landing Page Performance: landing page relevance and quality signals.
- Geographic Performance: performance by location and geo-targeting settings.
- Audience & Demographics: audience targeting setup and demographic insights.
- Ad Scheduling: day-parting configuration and scheduling efficiency.
- Shopping & Performance Max: Shopping and PMax campaign configuration and coverage.
- Google Recommendations: outstanding Google Ads recommendations and their status.
- Change History: recent account changes and their performance impact.
Running an audit
- Go to Ads in the main navigation and open Audit (at
/ads/audit/). - Click Run audit.
- Select your Google Ads connection and the account to audit. If you manage multiple accounts under a manager (MCC) account, you can choose a specific sub-account.
- Optionally scope the audit to a single campaign rather than the full account.
- Vendably runs the checks and returns results, typically within a few minutes.
Scheduling regular audits
Rather than running audits manually, Vendably can run them on a cadence you set:
- Go to
/ads/audit/schedule/. - Choose a frequency: daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Vendably runs the audit automatically at that cadence and stores each result in your audit history.
Reading the results
The audit detail page (at /ads/audit/<id>/) shows:
- Overall health score: a single number from 0 to 100 summarising your account health.
- Per-domain scores: a breakdown score for each of the 12 domains, so you can see which areas are dragging the overall score down.
- Individual findings: each finding includes a description of the issue, the affected campaigns or settings, and a severity rating from P0 (critical) down to P3 (low priority).
Findings can be dismissed if they do not apply to your situation, or promoted if you want to flag them for immediate action. You can also export all findings to CSV for sharing or offline tracking.
Tracking improvement over time
Vendably stores the health score for every audit you run. The score history view shows how your account health has changed over time, so you can see whether fixes are having the expected effect.
Troubleshooting
Audit fails to run: confirm that your Google Ads connection is active and has sufficient permissions. Vendably requires read access to campaign, ad group, keyword, conversion, and asset data. See connecting Google Ads for permission requirements.
Fewer than 70 checks shown: some checks only apply when certain features are in use (for example, the Performance Max brand exclusion checks only run if you have active PMax campaigns). The total number of checks run reflects your account configuration.
Score has not improved after making fixes: scores update when a new audit runs. If you have made changes since the last scheduled audit, run a manual audit from /ads/audit/ to get an updated score.
