Vendably alerts you when a competitor's price crosses a threshold you set, for example when a competitor undercuts you on a matched product. You can react promptly without monitoring competitor prices manually. Alerts are managed at /competitive/alerts/.
How price alerts work
You create an alert, choose which competitor it applies to (or set it to apply across all monitored competitors), and define a price threshold. Vendably evaluates alerts on a schedule and fires when a matched competitor product crosses the condition you set. Every triggered alert is logged to the alert history, where you can acknowledge it.
A cooldown setting suppresses repeated alerts for the same condition. Once an alert fires, it will not fire again for that same product and competitor until the cooldown period you set has elapsed. This prevents a series of small price changes from flooding your alert history.
Creating a price alert
- Go to /competitive/alerts/.
- Select "Create alert".
- Choose which competitor the alert applies to, or select all competitors.
- Set the price threshold, for example a percentage below your price.
- Set a cooldown period to control how often the same condition can retrigger the alert.
- Enable the alert and save.
You can edit or disable an alert at any time from /competitive/alerts/.
Acknowledging alert history
Every alert Vendably fires appears in the alert history at /competitive/alerts/. You can acknowledge alerts individually or in bulk to keep the history clear. Acknowledging an alert does not delete it; the record remains for reference.
Troubleshooting
No alerts are firing.
Check that the alert is enabled. Confirm that the threshold is not set too strictly (for example, a very small percentage undercut may never be reached). Verify that the relevant competitor has matched products with recent prices: if Vendably has not crawled the competitor recently, prices may be stale. See Competitor price monitoring for how to trigger a manual refresh.
Too many alerts are firing.
Raise the threshold so the alert only fires on more significant price changes. Increase the cooldown so the same condition cannot retrigger the alert as frequently.
The alert history is piling up.
Acknowledge alerts in bulk from /competitive/alerts/ to clear the backlog. If the volume is driven by a specific competitor or product, review the threshold and cooldown settings for the relevant alert.
